My Hour - My Consistent Self Care

Age >= 18 yrs | virtual only | Duration: 60 mins | Cost: Email for more details.

Neuroscience research reveals that without new experiences, our brains remain stagnant. If you think the same thoughts day after day, the majority being repeats from the day before, your neurobiology, neurocircuitry, and neurochemistry all reflect this consistency. In essence, everything in your body stays the same as long as you do.

However, when you actively seek new experiences and learning, you forge new synapses in your brain. These connections promote the growth of fresh neurons. Within just four days, these novel experiences and learning can activate pathways that drive change.

Together, let us practice and work towards making a positive change!

What you’ll get:

  • One hour of “Me time”, Monday to Friday

  • Virtual sessions from the comfort of your home

  • 10-15 minutes of breath work, all designed to help you find your inner steadiness

  • 20-30 minutes of movement focused interaction with the group that is also focussing on consistent self-care

  • 5-10 min of daily journaling prompts that helps you to get your feelings out of your headspace and look at them with more clarity.

Supervision for Therapists in Training

Radhika Sundararakrishnan RP, RMFT-SQ, provides supervision. She is a supervisor with CAMFT and CRPO. She has 11 years of clinical experience, of which she has 3 years of experience as a clinical supervisor for qualifying therapists, counselors, and other mental health professionals.

Clinical supervision for qualifying psychotherapists, marriage & family therapists, and other mental health professionals is provided in individual and group settings. All sessions are virtual and abide by the code of ethics set by CAMFT and CRPO.

Individual Supervision (Cost: 120-150 CAD | Duration: 50 mins)

Individual supervision is for students who have just completed their academic training and starting their clinical practicum. In the individual setting, you will be able to work with Om Family Therapy clients. Training is provided in co-facilitation (i.e., intern and supervisor together conduct psychotherapy) and direct observation (i.e., supervisor observes the intern conduct psychotherapy). Current trainees have spent 10-12 months in training. We have two annual intakes in winter (January) and Fall (September).

Group Supervision (Cost: 75 CAD per attendee ; 3-8 slots | Duration: 120 minutes)

Group supervision is for qualifying therapists close to fulfilling their requirements for licensure. The group setting allows qualifying therapists to collaborate in a peer-to-peer environment by presenting and receiving feedback on their cases. Group supervision sessions are conducted monthly with 3-8 participants for 2 hours using the virtual zoom platform. Registration is required for each session. Qualifying therapists need to show proof of their qualifying status.

Insurance

Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.

I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?

Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?

Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?

Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

Payment

We accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment. Credit/debit card information is required at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel or re-schedule your session at least 24 hours beforehand. Cancellation charge within 24 hours is 50% of treatment cost.
